I grew up in County Kildare, Ireland, studied Single Honour English Language and Literature in Trinity College, Dublin, then moved to LA, where I spent three years working in various jobs and trying to write. I returned to Dublin and did an MA (thesis on Edna O’Brien) in University College, Dublin, and spent the following years teaching yoga, having children, and every so often having another go at writing.
My stories, reviews, and articles have been published in gorse, The Stinging Fly, The Irish Times, Surge, Mslexia, Necessary Fiction, Eclectica, the Ofi Press, and others. Academic publications and conferences include the 13th International Conference on the Short Story In English (Vienna, 2014), and Emerging Perspectives, UCD English Graduate Society Conference, (Dublin, 2014). I teach creative writing to UCD undergraduates and Big Smoke Writing Factory. I completed an MFA in Creative Writing at UCD in 2014.
